Testimonials

I just wanted to thank you for teaching me last year. The program really taught me a lot and equipped me with the skills necessary to succeed in the industry. You can follow some of my acting endeavours on my website: harrisonxu.com

Praise from an engineer! – First impressions of the acting world.

I must say how impressed I am with the Tarlington organization.  My business is construction and engineering and I am very comfortable there and I must say I was a bit apprehensive that we (meaning me) wouldn’t fit into the world of the arts.  Probably because I am an engineer, by trade, I’ve probably always had the preconceived notion that the arts world was a snobby clicky place.  (likely started in university).   I must say that Edward, Carole, and yourself (as well as Wendy) could not  have been more warm, open and helpful to us.  We were sad to leave.  Adrienne and I are extremely delighted.  Kaleb had a fantastic time and is excited to come back soon.   It is obvious that Carole is doing this for the kids.

Congratulations on such a wonderful school

Praise from a Producer!

I’ve worked in the BC film industry for over 20 years as a Production Manager and Producer and have Produced and Executive produced more than 25 television movies, films and series.
Over the last couple of years, my projects have required casting  younger BC-based actors (15-22) . I’ve been very impressed with their talent, professionalism and lack-of-attitude – all important factors when trying to make a good movie.
When my daughter Lauren, who was 12 at the time, expressed interest in training as an actor I called some of my favourite young performers to get their advice. Coincidentally – or maybe not – many of them had gone through Tarlington and raved about it.
They said that that, not only had the training been great but their fellow students, who they had gone through the program with, had become lifelong friends and they still all helped each other in their acting endevours.  They also said that your programs grounded them.
Your training programs  have certainly  struck a chord with the kids that you teach, which is why it’s probably so successful.
Congratulations and continued success.

Sincerely,
Ted Bauman

A Parent’s Praise.

“Julia attended Tarlington’s 2010 summer bootcamps, emotional intensity workshops and the Professional Showcase Program (Sept-Dec 2010).
During this period, she booked a guest role in a TV series, 4 short film projects and a TV commercial.
Tarlington Training is an essential component of a growing actor’s multifaceted, continual  learning journey.  The school is effective, fun and friendly!
Carole, her instructors and her staff are supportive, encouraging and take as much pleasure in their students’ successes as the students do.

Tarlington Training is a critical ingredient in Julia’s ongoing acting experience – she looks forward to continued challenge by her instructors!”

SHOWCASE 2010  Another big hit!

A packed audience of parents, friends, agents and other industry professionals gave our latest showcase two very definite thumbs up.  65 young actors strutted their stuff and provided a great night for the audience.
Audience members reported they laughed, cried and were totally impressed by the quality of the work.  Some of the comments were:

Excellent, fantastic show! Tarlington continue to impress and are so obviously steps ahead of  other schools. Yourself and your instructors rock and roll!

I really enjoyed the show last night!!!! Thanks for the invitation! I run the kids and teen dept here at King Talent and would be interested in talking with some of your unrepresented talent at Tarlington.  You had some great talent on the stage.

It was an absolute fabulous show.  I enjoyed so much about it.  I really loved the play about the ESL students.  I can relate firstly because I am a teacher and although I am not an ESL teacher about 90% of my school body is made up of ESL children and I see them go through the experiences that were portrayed. Your students were amazing and told the story with great emotion.  I also liked the flow, the movement and the importance of every actor.  Erika-Shaye has had a most wonderful experience of being a part of this.  Thank you for furthering her growth as an actor and a person.  She came home after every week excited about what she had been learning and we are so pleased for that.
