
Winter’s cold and wet in Vancouver, but filming never stops!
Big shout out and congratulations to Tarlington Actors who are getting out, auditioning and filming.
Julian Zhu & Dawson Dunbar, shot a VFS Short film called “Superhero” by Hector Ruiz. Julian also shot a UBC Short “Mistaken”. Jacob Zhu is also shooing a SFU short “Bread of Heaven” AND has landed the lead role of Simon in “Sleepwalk” a Cap U Short Horror film! Finally Jayda Zhu, youngest of the three has ALSO booked a principal role of Samantha, in an independent short film written by Loretta Seto called “First Day”. Congratulations to the talented Zhu family! Working actors all!
Another talented family of actors, Jordan and Aidan Wessels are stared in a production of “All the Way Home” at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, a Pulitzer wining play by Tad Mosel. An article and review of the production can be found here!. Jordan and Aidan have been training here at Tarlington for some time and it’s really paying off! Congrats to the brothers we look forward to seeing what’s next!
Dalila Bela was cast in the Movie “Caroling”, she played the role of Young Carol at age 9. Emmanuelle Vaugier was “Carol” the main Character. Dalila was also at the Whistler Film festival for the launch of “Joanna Makes a Friend”. Dalila was cast in the title role of Joanna and the film is off to the Victoria Film festival next. Well done Dalila you are a superstar!
Finally Will Verchere booked a part on the hit TV Series “Supernatural” playing a ghost! How much fun would that be!

Margot Berner (Junior Masters 2011) just booked a principal role for the TV Show Haunting Hour. Margot’s also appeared on “Sanctuary”, “Eureka”, “Supernatural”, “Masters of Horror”, “Cold Squad” along with numerous commercials and other shows! Way to go Margot.

Genevieve (Senior Masters) just finished shooting a supporting Lead for the Movie
“Goodnight Killer”. She too has appeared on lots of great local TV shows and it’s making
a name for herself in the film industry. With lead roles in “Finding a Family”, “Elopment”, “Courage”, “Desperate Hours”, “Bob the Butler” and also she was a recurring Guest Star on “Caprica”.
This pair are names to watch! We look forward to seeing more of these two sisters who bothtrained at Tarlington Training. Bravo!
We got an email from Dalila Bela (Showcase 2009, 2010, 2011, Very Young Performers, Advanced Very Young Performers, My first Demo Reel) updating us as to her latest exploits!

“Dalila has been quite busy. She finished filming her short film, and her first lead role on ”Joanna Makes a Friend”. It will be premiering at the Whistler Film Festival 2011, end of November to begining of December 2011.
She was also asked to work on the feature “Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3″ without an audition. We were so proud…
She also did 2 commercials last month: one for Infiniti (car) that she shot at Whistler, and another for the Guilford Mall that she did with her brother Bruce.”

Dylan Schmid (Junior Masters 2012) booked the Principal role of “Baelfire” in the TV series “Once Upon a Time” We are very excited for Dylan!! He is ecstatic!

Victoria Raskin (Showcase 2011) will be playing Roxy Santos, (an abused child whos mother is an alcoholic. Roxy’s mother’s boyfriend is the killer, and Roxy is forced to do whatever they both say!) in the upcoming movie called “Good Morning Killer”. The project is directed by Maggie Greenwald, based on a novel by April Smith, and stars Cole Hauser, Catherine Bell and Titus Welliver.

VANCOUVER ACTRESS AND DANCER KAITLIN CHEUNG WINS 2011 YOUNG ARTIST AWARD
Vancouver October 6, 2011 –Vancouver actress and dancer Kaitlin Cheung (Introduction to Screen Acting 2010) recently won the Young Artist Award in the category of ‘Best Performance’ for her leading role in the short film “The Perfect Gift for Flora.” The nine-year-old edged out seven other young performers to claim this honor, and traveled with her family to Los Angeles to accept the award.
Kaitlin is trained as a Ballet, Tap and Jazz dancer, and is a member of the competitive dance group at her dance school. She is currently working on her next project, an exciting and meaningful role as a dancer in the upcoming feature film, “Heart of Dance.” The film chronicles a high school senior’s quest to fulfill her late younger sister’s dream of becoming a professional dancer and her subsequent struggle with an eating disorder. It is intended to raise awareness of eating disorders and thirty-percent of the profits will be donated to the Looking Glass Foundation For Eating Disorders, a non-profit organization which is working to open Canada’s first treatment centre for adolescents.
Kaitlin’s other credits include an appearance on the hit television series “Fairly Legal,” a featured Extra in the movie “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” and the “I Believe” CTV Olympic commercial with actor Donald Sutherland, and several toy commercials for Fisher Price and Hasbro. Kaitlin has also appeared in several Print Ads including ‘Teva Shoes’ and the ‘Manitoba Telephone Company’.
Kaitlin lives in Vancouver with her mom, dad, two brothers, puppy Mochi and pet bird Felix. She plays the piano and loves to sing, dance and perform. In her spare time, Kaitlin enjoys playing with friends, her dolls, drawing and reading. She hopes to be an actress, teacher, dancer and/or fashion designer when she grows up. Katilin is represented by Murray Gibson of Characters Talent Agency.
